Seeking Wisdom After College

 

This stage play is ideal for a small troupe. It covers a day or so in the life of Gene, who has just graduated from college, although ten years later than most. Marriage, indecision, and a history of odd jobs may have held him back, but now it's time to move on. Gene must now decide if he should pursue another part-time job, get back with his wife, or follow an attractive young business executive back to Colorado. Judy, Gene's wife, shows up on his graduation day to congratulate him, but he sees her presence only as trouble.

Ted is trying to help his childhood buddy by letting him share the condo, but he has issues of his own. Although his father is rich, he wants to work his way up the ladder on his own. He just got out of a bad relationship with Sonya (whom we never see). Rita, Gene's executive friend, seems attracted to him and vice versa.

Gene's mother, Alice, appears in the first act and steals every scene.
